Voip For Vips
It isn’t here yet, but there will come a time when even your grandmother (or people from her generation in general) will be using VoIP in their homes. Oh, they may not have the latest and greatest software or hardware, but the way VoIP is growing, it will reach critical mass at some point and most phones will be over a voice/data line.
You are not someone’s grandparent, though. Or maybe if you are, you’re a VIP grandparent. In either case, if you consider yourself VIP or VIP worthy, VoIP is a way you can treat yourself like a VIP on the cheap. And what better way to be a VIP is there?
The Service
While mere mortals are paying outrageous fees for long distance on their traditional phone plans, you can long distance dial to your heart’s delight with the right VoIP plan. With this in mind, you’ll want to think like a VIP and find the most bang for your buck.
Shopping around for the upper tier service plan at several providers will give you a good taste of what features are available at what cost. As a VIP, you’ll want to go for the biggest package of perks probably.
Or at least a mid-range plan. If you’re a talker (and as a VIP you probably are), the heftier service plan will most likely pay for itself over time in saved minutes on your cell or home phone line if you plan to keep that around too.
The Hardware
While there’s a certain novelty to wearing the cheap headphones and mic that comes with most new computer systems, if you’re serious about VoIP and your VIP status, you’ll definitely want to look into the newest hardware available for Internet telephony.
If you really want to spend, some of the top of the line VoIP phone systems have a lot of great extras that make your phone use truly VIP-like. Does everyone have a handy LCD screen on their phone? One that also does other things?
You may spend a little more money going with top of the line equipment, but you can do so knowing that you’re living the VIP lifestyle, with access to the latest and greatest VoIP gadgets and equipment. Even if you can’t afford a VIP car or a VIP house, you’re bound to be able to afford a VIP style of VoIP
equipment.
Practical Too
In all seriousness, VoIP is a great way to save a lot of money and consolidate some of your bills by cutting out a normal phone line. It isn’t the answer to all the world’s problems, but it’s one way you can jump on the technology train and gain a benefit from being an early adopter.

Voip - The Cheaper Way To Get In Touch
Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP is definitely one of the benefits the internet has made available to us. Thanks to this protocol we can communicate to family, friends, and business associates easily and cost-effectively over the internet. And today, you don’t necessarily need to be chained to your computer desk to do this. You can call over the internet using your cellular phone or a VoIP-enabled telephone too. But of course, using your computer is still the most common way.
Why Use VoIP?
Communicating via VoIP has many benefits whether you do it for personal or business use.
Voice Over IP for Personal Use
Imagine being in a long-distance relationship… the costs of all those international calls! Well, that problem has been taken care of by VoIP technology. In fact, if you and your partner have a hi-speed internet connection you can even call each other for free using messengers such as Yahoo!, GTalk or Skype.
Often, older family members do not feel confident to use the computer and such messengers so you may need to sign up for a VoIP service provider. Still, the costs of signing up for one are nothing compared to traditional long distance calls!
Voice Over IP for Business Use
Business nowadays knows no boundaries. Even if you’re working from home, you can be doing business to somebody across the globe. While email is often enough to meet communication demands, nothing beats a short call to a client or provider to ensure things are going in the right direction.
For small businesses, free VoIP mediums may be ok but for bigger enterprises or for discussions that need securer lines or have more than two participants, a paid VoIP service such as WebEx, GoToMeeting, myLowPhone, and others are better. Besides these paid Voice over Internet Protocol providers offer features that may be necessary for your business such as audio and visual recordings, meeting planners, and others.
Another benefit of voice over ip for both personal and business use is portability. Making or receiving calls via your computer does not mean that you stay at work till late; just take the call on your PC at home. And if you have a mobile phone with internet access, all the better. Make and take VoIP calls from anywhere.
Of course, not VoIP providers are created equal so you do need to do a bit of research to find the VoIP provider that best suits your needs. You can start your search at VoIPReviewer.org, a site where VoIP users sign up and post their personal reviews on various providers.
Review criteria on the site are based on: Call & Service Quality, Customer Support, VoIP Pricing Models, and Features & Options. It’s also extremely fun (and of course useful!) to read all the personal reviews.
Going to a site like VoIPReviewer.org saves you a lot of time and money when trying to figure out the voice over ip provider you want to sign up with. After all, who wants to lose money, right? So go on over to the site, and check out the best VoIP provider now!
And don’t forget to post your own review too to let others know what you’ve experienced.

Private Label Voip And Their Unique Voip Reseller Programs
The VoIP reseller is looked upon as a marvellous means by which people can easily avail the latest VoIP telephony service irrespective of where one is located. This adds extra fun to the availers of this telephony service. It is now possible for people to have A to Z termination of calls to any place of the world.
The internet based Voice over IP is a billing and account management system. So people can make online payment of bills after availing the VoIP network connection. Most of the time it is found that private label VoIP brings the best of service to people. Availers can now use the technology in their own brand name. But is not so in case of white label VoIP. People can use the services in the brand name of a wholesaler with white label.
The VoIP reseller program too differs in case of the private label and white label VoIP. In case of the private label the reseller can fix his own rates of call cost. But in case of a white label VoIP, the reseller has to abide by the rates as fixed by the wholesaler of the service. So, a lot of difference exists in the billing and account management for both these kinds of service providers.
The resellers of VoIP are now found in every region of the world. It is the efficiency of their service that compels people to avail this popular phone line with all its advanced features. Advanced features such as Caller ID recognition, Call waiting facility, Call transfer, Return call, Repeat dial, and three-way calling system are very easily found with this telephony service. The other extra-ordinary benefits include voice-mail, email facility and visual voice-mail facility. So, it is evident that it is actually possible for people to view others on their computer screen while forwarding the call.
The recent VoIP reseller program is very exciting and markedly makes both private label VoIP and white label VoIP very interesting. The users of this digital technology now get the chance to benefit from the interesting deals offered by the resellers from time to time.

10 Reasons For Business Voip
Why choose a hosted business communications services from Keynote Technologies? Call 0845 652 2040 to speak to a expert.
_____
1.Lower CapEx costs
Buying a traditional phone system ties up a significant portion of an end user’s budget from day one. In addition, the purchase will mean that you own a piece of equipment that you’ll have to replace one day. And that system will have to include some ‘headroom’ to allow for any new employees you may be planning to take on in the next few years so you’ll be paying for a system that won’t be 100% utilised from day one. You could put that money to better use by subscribing to a Hosted IP PBX Business Communications service that you can pay for on a monthly basis, improving your cash flow from day one instead?
_____
2.No need to worry about depreciation
Like any major purchase, a telephone system that sits on your premises will depreciate in value over time. With a hosted communications service, you won’t have to worry about depreciation because you won’t have purchased an expensive telephone system using your operational expenses budget.
_____
3.No need for a crystal ball
A Hosted service gives you day to day control over the sizing of your business communications system. You don’t need to forecast how many employees your business will have in 3 or 4 years and you don’t need to forecast where those employees will be based. You can buy a service for the exact number of employees in your organisation today, you can add users to your service only when you need to, and, you’ll have complete flexibility over where your employees work.
_____
4.Easier to implement and maintain
The engine that powers an end user’s Hosted Business Communications Service is located in the service provider’s network. You don’t have to worry about its installation or maintenance - that’s the responsibility of the service provider. By subscribing to a Hosted Service, you minimise the equipment that has to be implemented and maintained at your premises and you will therefore benefit from less disruption caused by problems with equipment.
_____
5.Easier to adjust to your changing requirements
With a Hosted Service, activities such as Moves, Adds and Changes no longer need an on-site visit from an engineer or technician. Hosted communications systems are designed to be remotely configured by the service provider and, depending on the capabilities of the solution, you may even be able to make your own changes via a web browser, without needing engineering or technical expertise. End user expenses can therefore be reduced by eliminating costly monthly maintenance contracts or the high labour cost typically required to have a ‘techie’ or engineer onsite for every change you require.
_____
6. Extended features for improved productivity
A Hosted Communications System will provide you with advanced calling features that are not typically included in traditional telephony systems. Features that can improve employee productivity such as Outlook integration, easy call diversion, ‘pop up’ of contact details on incoming calls, ‘Click to Call’, and quick set up of personal speed dials can all be accessed via a Hosted solution.
_____
7. An easier way to build security into your business
With a network many times larger than your own, you can be sure that your Keynote has invested in security such as firewalls and physical security. The hosted service will be secure because it’s in the service provider’s best interests. You don’t have to worry about finding the best solution and implementing it, you can let your service provider take that worry on for them. And, when it’s time to upgrade security systems and apply patches, your service provider will take the time to do that, saving the end user the time and effort.
_____
8. Disaster recovery and emergency Protection
A hosted communications system will benefit from the same level of protection as an end user’s hosted website or email - your communications infrastructure will reside in a secure, off-site location, protected from any major or minor disasters that may affect your business locations. The hosting service provider can provide the end user with the level of protection and redundancy that the end user feels is necessary for your business. And the Service Provider is responsible for making sure that your protection and redundancy systems and processes are fully operational at all times so that’s one less thing for you to worry about.
_____
9. A hosted business communications service eliminates technology obsolescence
With a Hosted Service, you don’t have to purchase a phone system, so you don’t have to worry about the equipment becoming obsolete. Your service provider will be responsible for making sure that his equipment is up to date because, in a competitive world where the end user can easily switch providers, your service provider will want to ensure that he runs the latest technology so that he can provide you with updates and new features to ensure your loyalty.
_____
10. A hosted IP-PBX is built on non-proprietary components
If you buy a traditional PBX phone system, you run the risk of locking your company into a proprietary architecture. In other words, you are building your company’s future on a system that may or may not remain compatible with ever evolving industry standards. Many companies who have bought a traditional phone system are now at the mercy of the manufacturer for repair and expansion since only your parts will work with your purchase. You will want to make sure that your Hosted IP-PBX system works with multiple phone manufacturers so if you decide to move to a different system, a forklift upgrade won’t be necessary.

VoIP can now justifiably replace traditional methods of phone calling, previously limited to voice-enabled computers connected with Internet. You can easily notice the advantaged technology, the "always on" broadband.
To simplify the matter, this latest technology is quite easy to work with. VoIP includes a VoIP service provider and subscribers of the phone service therein. Similar to a regular system, you can get a unique phone number provided by VoIP providers, which will enable you to use it with VoIP handsets or devices for calling others in almost all diverse locations.
Perhaps you may think that there is no difference between the traditional phone calling system and the new VoIP solution. Yes, that is true, just that VoIP phones have much more benefits. This incredible system is cheaper than any other calling system you know. To persuade you, note that monthly charges are typically charged on your VoIP account instead of focusing on charges per-call.
In case you have to use phone calling extensively for your business concerns, you can find a great money saving solution in VoIP. Not only does it provide you with cheaper costs, but it also introduces new plans according to your requirements.
As long as you are keen with saving your budget, you can find that VoIP is the best option that you have. Feel free to compare your traditional phone plans with this new technology and admit the truth, happily.
For starters, imagine having to pay merely $20 monthly for this incredible service, along with as low as $9 monthly for an additional rent and enjoy your calling. Of course, this is the cheapest, as you will see. This simple reason has led to a huge increase in VoIP service subscriber base in a very short time. All you have to do to get a connection with VoIP is to subscribe to a high-speed internet connection available in your area, and to your local VoIP service provider.
You can easily get a VoIP connection directly by registering online with a merchant offering these services. From a practical point of view all the procedures involved are quite easy and effortless. You can subscribe online, select the suitable plans for your requirements of calling, provide details and get started. All this with just a few clicks of your mouse. If you have a credit card, debit card, Paypal account or Moneybookers account, you can easily pay using these immediately.
Get a VoIP connection for your business and be ready to be amazed at the amount of money saved, and the efficiency it brings to your business.

Low Rate Voip - Understanding Low Priced Internet Calling Facilities
VoIP or voice over internet protocol is a calling service which is steadily catching up on the radars of people across the world. As it is, VoIP is cheaper and more convenient than most other telephony services, the fixed landline for example. But the catch in low rate VoIP is that the increasing number of VoIP service providers means that there are several services giving the same or nearly same services at variable rates. But how do these rates vary and why? This is chiefly due to a multitude of reasons such as the overall infrastructure of a company, cost effectiveness during operations and similar economic factors.
The recent splurge of VoIP telephony has led to several service providers boasting about the lowest rates associated with VoIP. In fact, these incredibly low rates seem too good to be true. How credible or useful are these unbelievably low priced VoIP services actually? If you are paying next to nothing for long distance calling, does it mean you will have to ‘bear’ your provider? Or does it mean you will have to struggle to talk through static noise in order to get a word across? Not necessarily. Here are some factors which affect the credibility and might influence your decision to choose a particular service:
1. The overall number of features provided by the VoIP provider - ensure that the provider that you sign up with is providing all the basic features listed in their promos. Many upcoming services do not actually provide even a fraction of the services they list.
2. Decide the features you need - if you are looking for a cheaply priced VoIP, then you definitely do not need the fancy features usually provided such as four way calling, redirecting, etc. The essential calling features come at rates near the ground so your search for a decent provider will be effortless.
3. The voice quality should be respectable - As a rule, low rate VoIP providers usually have comparatively bearable voice clarity. If you are looking for basic facilities, ensure that at least the voice quality is respectable enough.
Scanning through consumer and various user reviews can be a good option to discover actually good low rate VoIP services. As these reviews are based on personal experience, one usually gets to have a fairly accurate knowledge about any online service provider beforehand. Communicating directly with the reviewer if possible is advisable due to widespread scamming by marketers. There are websites and blogs which offer excellent reviews and guides on VoIP telephony and a quick search on Google can reveal the popular and reliable ones in the field.

Voip Broadband Phone - How Does Voip Work?
VoIP uses the Internet’s packet switching properties to allow a person to make and receive calls. This system has many benefits in comparison to a conventional telephone that uses circuit switching. The space occupied by a call in circuit switching can accommodate many calls when using packet switching.
For example, if you make a call that lasts 10 minutes on a PSTN line, the transmission is for complete 10 minutes at rate of 128kbps. For the same call duration on VoIP, the transmission time is only 3.5 minutes at a rate of 64kbps. So, the line can be used for another 10 minutes to utilize the full transmission of 128kbps or other calls can occupy the same space. So, this goes to say that approximately 3-4 calls can be fitted in the space used by a call in the conventional telephone line. With compression of data an additional decrease in the space occupied by each call can be accomplished.
VoIP makes use of Packet switching and they function in the following way:
1. As soon as the user picks up the phone to make a call, signals are sent to the ATA which accept it. ATA stands for Analog Telephone Adaptor which is a device that helps in converting signals of analog type to digital type. This helps in connecting the telephone to the computer to make calls through the internet by VoIP mode. From the ATA, the signals are sent through the internet.
2. The ATA will let the user know the existence of an internet connection to make calls with the help of a dial tone.
3. Once the user hears a dial tone he/she can dial the number of the person to whom the call is made. The signals sent will be converted to digital data by the ATA and temporarily stored.
4. Next, the VoIP service provider will be sent a request form through their call process to ensure the vailidity of the data.
5. The call processor of the VoIP service provider will analyze the data sent to it. The call processor is a piece of hardware that runs a database program known as soft switch. These soft switches analyze the data such as the end points of the network, the numbers being used to call and receive and the assigned IP addresses pertaining to the end points.
The soft switches possess information of the database of the user and the phone numbers. If this information is not present, requests are then sent forth to numerous other soft switches until the necessary data is retrieved. Once the user at the other end is found, the information relevant to the other user is gathered by the soft switches. This information will then be forwarded to the soft phone or the IP phone to permit exchange of data between the endpoints.
The conversion of numbers to IP addresses occurs with the help of a soft switch that forms a connection between the two ends. So, if one user is making a call, the signal is transmitted to the other user to receive the call. In effective, soft switches and network devices work together to enable a person to make calls through VoIP.
6. If the person on the other end receives the call, a session is established between the caller and the receiver. The systems of both the person will receive and transmit the signals through data packets and will manage the call just like sending or receiving any other information on the internet. But, for communication between the systems the protocol of both the systems should be common. There are two recognized channels where one handles direction and the other handles the session.
7. During the sessions when conversation is in progress, the two computers receive and send out data in packets. The incoming packets are transmitted to the ATA which converts the digital signals into analog audio signals that will be heard as voice by the receiving person. There is an open circuit maintained by the ATA with the analog phone to receive analog signals and forward it to the user at the other end as digital signals.
8. If anyone hangs up the phone, the circuit between the phone and the ATA is cut off.
9. The ATA will then communicate with the soft switch through signals to inform that the conversation is completed and the session can be ended. Packet switching enables data networks to communicate with one another.
VoIP has become a very popular means of communication these days due to the advantages it possesses. It is still undergoing lot of fine-tuning and is gaining more popularity by the day and will one day replace the conventional phone altogether.

Comcast, Throttling, And The Coming Voip War.
Throttling and bandwidth capping are a hot topic amongst forums devoted to bandwidth and ISPs. Both ISP defenders and attackers get heated up and give reasons as to why capping and throttling is acceptable or unacceptable, and why it should be allowed or made illegal.
There are good reasons for both, however as a whole ISPs are blowing the "P2P is destroying the network" horn a bit too loud. The fact is that P2P is not eating up anything, on the contrary- it is just giving monopolized ISPs a great excuse to become traffic-cop and control what we can and cannot do with the connection we’re paying them for. This will have grave consequences and haunt consumers for years to come, in my honest opinion.
One important aspect which will be affected greatly in the not-so-far future is independent Voice over IP. Independent VoIP is competing against Comcast Digital Voice, Time Warner Digital Phone, and other such Cable VoIP offerings which typically cost 3-4 times what independent VoIP providers charge, and almost as much as a regular phone would. In today’s internet situation, consumers barely feel the difference between indy VoIP and cable-provided VoIP. It’s pretty much all the same quality-wise.
Recently however, an alarming news came from Comcast when they circulated the following message among it’s users:
"As part of our ongoing efforts to continuously improve the quality of our service, we are switching to a new network congestion management technique by the end of the year. It is focused on managing network congestion only when and where it may occur. It will also replace the current technique and will help ensure that all of our customers receive their fair share of network resources…"
Comcast’s FAQs proceed to indicate that Comcast VoIP Service will NOT be affected by this "network management" technique. So far all good, right? Wrong. What happens if you’re using an independent VoIP provider? you guessed right - it’s your problem, not Comcast’s! If you get flagged for throttling, not only will your internet connection slow to a halt, should you dare to use a competing independent VoIP provider, your phone will also be affected and range from bad quality to completely unusable.
Now, what exactly is stopping Comcast from sniffing your traffic (a practice they’ve already mastered), and once they figure out you are running VoIP applications over your connection just flag you for throttling? sure, you’re not using a lot of bandwidth, in your opinion - but then again Comcast neglected to indicate what "a lot" actually means. There’s nothing stopping them from arbitrarily deciding that 180kbps usage (the amount of total bandwidth required for a typical two-way VoIP conversation) over more than two minutes is "excessive". You’ll end up getting great quality calls for the first two minutes, followed by horrible quality for the rest of the call.
In essence, Comcast specifically, and other ISPs too, hold way too much power in their hands, and all signs show they intend to use it. Cable and DSL providers are a monopoly in the US. Even if there is some minor competition it is typically between one cable provider and one DSL provider, which is not real competition as they BOTH will "shape" your traffic - which is just another word for "control what you can and can’t do with the bandwidth you’re paying for". Today it is P2P applications. Tomorrow it is your Voice over IP, Video over IP, and any other applications which your ISP decides to ban.
And don’t think you’re safe if you don’t use an independent VoIP provider, either. Every used Skype? how about video chat over MSN Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger? given the higher bandwidth these applications consume they are much more likely targets for the ISPs to start with. Now let’s continue.. online gaming? no online gaming here, takes too much bandwidth! And how about YouTube? surely YouTube would be alright… right? wrong again! YouTube too consumes far more bandwidth than VoIP and even some P2P applications - which makes it a prime target for the I-want-to-control-your-traffic power-hungry modern ISP.
I think I’ve said enough, surely you too - my dear reader - can see where this is going, and what type of challenges businesses operating over the internet are going to have in years to come. For competition’s sake and for the sake of a free market and a free internet - this needs to be stopped, and stopped fast by laws and regulations - and the sooner the better. America is turning into a third world nation when it comes to internet connectivity, and you and I will suffer the consequences while Comcast’s CEO buys another yacht and private plane while ensuring shareholders that the competition is gone!
I wish you all a very happy, unthrottled experience with your ISP, VoIP, and other applications!

Understanding Voip
VoIP service providers currently provide phone and calling services to their subscribers. These subscribers can enjoy unique phone numbers given by VoIP providers to avail features like unlimited incoming calling and very cheap outgoing calling on a monthly basis. Usually, the phone numbers to be used with VoIP handsets are charged a nominal rental fee on a monthly basis. This is usually quite low, and the net charges you are liable for a month will most definitely make your current phone bills look like an unaffordable luxury.
Despite the fact that there is no difference, except for some issues of voice clarity, between VoIP and other traditional systems of calling, you have some compelling reasons to opt for VoIP. The VoIP system completely circumvents the need for the conventional telephony system and is solely reliant on the Internet service. The difference essentially lies in the way voice is transferred using the internet. Voice is transferred as data, and reconverted again at the other end, as voice again. Initially, you will be amazed to discover that calling via VoIP is considerably cheap and the connections can be entailed easily from the comfort of your home. You can now happily bid goodbye to costly phone networks that charge you on a per-call basis, and instead avail of the monthly fixed charge system of VoIP providers.
VoIP, due to its cheapest charges will enable you to speak more at low fees. Notwithstanding, VoIP has many plans to suite all your necessities of calling. Using VoIP for your business is a great option you have. There are attractive low cost plans and you also get custom plans with prior arrangements with your VoIP provider. Other perks of getting a VoIP phone include all the services provided by your current phone, and that too at no extra cost, for instance, call forwarding.
Getting your VoIP connection is quite easy and all you need to do is to register with online merchants that provide this service in your area. There are hundreds of websites that offer VoIP related services and solutions, and you can easily locate the one in your area. Most websites offer free signing up and substantial discounts on new accounts. You will be asked to provide a few details about yourself, and make a payment. Payment options are numerous, like credit/debit cards, online banking, etc, and you can choose the one you are most comfortable with. Payment transactions are registered within a fraction of seconds as soon as you have made the payment, and you are all set to enjoy your service.
